Yes, it is legal to cultivate industrial hemp in Spain provided certain requirements are met: using seeds from certified varieties included in the EU catalog, ensuring THC content does not exceed the established limit (currently 0.3%), and complying with administrative procedures before the agricultural department of your autonomous community.
What permits do I need to cultivate industrial hemp?
For crops intended for fiber, grain, or seeds, you need: authorization from the agricultural department of your autonomous community, EU-certified seeds, registration of the crop in the REGEPA registry, and it is advisable to notify the Civil Guard. If the purpose is cannabinoid extraction or medicinal use, an AEMPS (Spanish Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices) license is also required.
